Former US First Lady, Michelle Obama, has continued the campaign for women empowerment across the globe.
Pursuant to this goal, Michelle Obama met with 8 girls from Oahu in Hawaii for a round table conversation on Tuesday to learn more about their future aspiration and career goals.
Reports say, it was part of the first-ever Girls Opportunity Alliance round-table discussion in Hawaii.
“Yesterday, I met with some incredible young women here in Hawaii with the Girls Opportunity Alliance. These students give me hope – they’re teaching their peers about mental health, tutoring classmates in coding, and even educating their community about the criminal justice system. I’m so proud to see how they’ve already begun leading change at home and I can’t wait to see what they do next,” she said through her face-book official page.
Before sitting down for the session, Mrs Obama was treated to an orientation in a native plant garden at the Manoa Heritage center.
The girls, ages 11 to 17 were brought together by “Girls Opportunity Alliance” programme which is part of the Obanma Foundation that works to educate and empower girls from around the world.
This is the second Obama Foundation event in Hawaii.
It will be recalled that former President Barack Obama spoke at the east-west center in 2019 for the launch of the foundation’s Asia Pacific leadership programme.
Fans of Michelle, who commented on her selfless programme through her face-book wall, expressed gratitude to her for what they described as dedication and firm resolve to the empowerment of women across the globe.

Good job
