Allah is calling on all of us to come to Paradise but many are unwilling to heed the call.
Chief Imam of Masjid Al-Aqsaa, Ontario, Canada, Sheikh Hanzlah Khan, has reminded Muslim faithful that “this world is not our own”.
Our Correspondent reports that, the Imam gave the reminder in his sermon, on Friday, before leading congregation prayers.
Khan said, our existence on earth was to live and worship Allah in obedience.
He rhetoriclly asked, “why are you in this world? What is your purpose here? What are you doing here? Why are you working? Why are you schooling?
According to him, “these questions aimed at establishing the essence of our lives here on earth.”
“Your existence is only to serve and worship Allah.
“What Allah wants from us is obedience.
“You are in this world once. Therefore, use the opportunity to obey Allah and worship Him,” he advised.
According to Khan, “Allah is calling on all of us to come to Paradise but many are unwilling to heed the call.”
He said Paradise has two Pre-requisites – those who believe and do good deed.
“Allah says, I have prepared for my righteous slave a place no one has ever heard of, for there they shall dwell forever.
“This world is a test and preparations for hereafter,” he said.
The Imam also reminded the congregation how they often ask their children: “What is your favorite subject? Who is your favorite Actor? Who is your favorite Musician? Who is your favorite Footballer? What is your favorite profession? Who is your favorite social media influencer?
“Have you ever asked your son or daughter, “what is your favorite verse in the Quran? Who is your favorite disciple of the Prophet?” he queried.
“If the children fail to answer in the affirmative, it is we parents that have failed because we pay little or no attention to it,” he observed.
Sheikh Hanzlah Khan, however, prayed Allah to give people the ability to wake up and realise that “this world is not a reality and that it is not a place forever.”
