Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has appealed to parents to do everything within their means to ensure the education of their children.
The Emir made the appeal on Saturday in a message to the Quranic Memorisation Graduation ceremony organized by Ubayyu Ibn Ka’ab Islamiyya School in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State, Nortrh-west Nigeria.
Emir Bayero, who was represented by the Waziri of Kano, Alhaji Sa’ad Shehu Gidado, said it was also important for the parents to monitor the movements of the children and ensure that they do not mix with bad company.
The Monarch, therefore, called for sustained prayers for lasting peace in the state and the country at large.
Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Council, Alhaji Habu P. A, expressed happiness over the students’ successful graduation, adding that the council would continue to do more in the development of Islamiyya schools in the area.
He lauded the activities of security agencies for “the existing peace in the community.”
Our correspondent reports that there were a total of 121 graduands who received their certificates for the complete memorization of the Holy Quran out of which were 36 married women.
