The winners of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will receive $2million as Prize money.
This is a 100 per cent increment for the same Prize presented to Nigeria when they won the final of the tournament in 2024.
According to Graphic Online, it follows the decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to increase the total Prize money by 67 per cent from $3,475 million to $5.8 million.
While the champions’ Prize money has been doubled, the runners-up will receive $750 000 and the bronze medalists are also set to receive $450,000, representing an increase of 50 and 43 per cent from $500,000 and $350,000 respectively.

Additionally, each of the 16 participating Teams will receive $150,000 as a participation fee, that also an increase of 20 per cent from the $125 000 received in the previous edition.
The WAFCON Prize monies have seen a steady rise of 495 per cent from $975 000 to $5.8 million, with that of the champions seeing an impressive 900 per cent over the last four years, from $200 000 to $2 million.
